About the Art
Her themes include different perspectives on humanity and nature and she frequently uses the butterfly to symbolize the concept of freedom and joy. She contrasts that with darker symbols reflecting the human experience. She combines realism, abstraction and embraces the spirit of creativity through experimentation with various tools and mediums. Tarman employs oil paint, vibrant color schemes, the palette knife and various other tools to give her work a rare, fresh and energetic quality.
